On May 29, 1968, promoter Ed Francis presented a wrestling card at the Honolulu Civic Auditorium which featured the return of the Mighty Midgets. Little Beaver and Little Joe Russell vs Sky Low Low and Little Brutus Little Beaver and Little Joe Russell took two straight falls over Sky Low Low and Little Brutus in the midget tag match. Little Beaver hocking photographs before the match. The ring veteran Sky Low Low makes his entry. Little Joe Russell signs autographs for the fans. Little Joe Russell flips a surprised Sky Low Low. Action in the corner. A dazed Little Beaver heads for the ropes. Little Brutus begs for a tag. Curtis Iaukea vs Billy White Wolf Curtis Iaukea and Billy White Wolf wrestled to a time limit draw in one of the feature matches of last night's wrestling card at the Civic Auditorium. Chief Billy White Wolf enters the ring. Curtis Iaukea and Chief Billy White Wolf exchange blows in the middle of the ring. As seen from another fan's camera. The battle spills out of the ring. Curtis Iaukea struggles to get up off the floor and back into the ring. White Wolf gives Iaukea the 'Oklahoma Crusher.' Chief Billy White Wolf dances around the ring in anticipation of applying the 'Indian Death Lock' on a helpless Iaukea. Ripper Collins vs Jim Hady On the previous week's 50th State Wrestling TV show, Ray Stevens stated that he would never return to Hawaii to give Jim Hady a rematch for the United States title which he defeated Hady two weeks earlier. Later on that same TV show, Collins stated that he just got off the phone with Stevens, who told Collins that he would give Hady a rematch in Tampa, Florida on Sunday night at 8pm. There was no way Hady could get there due to the air travel at the time. At the start of the match between Hady and Collins, Ripper teased Hady about making it to Tampa and called him a coward. This got Hady upset and once the match started Hady gave Collins the beating of his life and causing a large cut in Ripper's forehead. Curtis Iaukea and Harry Fujiwara came down to ring side and threw in the towel giving Hady the victory. Collins went nuts, sounded off to the crowd, and headed to the locker room a bloody mess. A battered Ripper Collins helplessly slung over the ropes. His head ripped open by Jim Hady in spite of the mask. The Ripper, having lost the match to Hady, staggers to the microphone. Now hear this Jim Hady! Being escorted out of the ring by HPD officer and Fuji. Another hard night in the squared circle. Peter Maivia & Missing Link vs Tosh Togo & Masa Fujiwara In a tag team match, Peter Maivia and the Missing Link won over Tosh Togo and Masa Fujiwara on a disqualification. |
